What is your shop about? What kind of goods do you have and what makes you unique? Also, how should people best contact you?
We make hand forged swords, knives and daggers. What makes us unique is a focus on quality. Full tang construction. High carbon spring steel. Pattern welding. Proper weight and balance. Even surviving antique weapons. To contact us, email, contact through the website www.ageofchivalry.com or by phone. Email is often easiest because I can answer questions an include photos of a weapon to quickly illustrate what I’m talking about.
How long have you been a part of the SCA?
I first became a member in 1999. Around 18 years ago I started attending SCA events that were further away.
What unusual item needs to be on everyone’s packing list?
Things you may not need, but someone at war will. Someone will need bug spray, band aids, to borrow a tool, or be given some spare tent stakes.
What is your favorite memory of something that happened at an event?
An SCA event in Tres Pinos had an unusual theme, including an Italian festival and a small armored combat after dark. Most importantly, it really featured activities for children including an egg hunt and a race while riding on armored fighters.
Which event is your favorite every year and why?
Estrella War, because we get to see many friends who come from other parts of the country who don’t attend any of the other SCA events we do. We even get to see some folks from outside the US!
What is the best short advice you have for any new members?
Talk to everyone. Ask questions. I still learn new things at every event!
In an age of mass-produced, Age of Chivalry stands out with amazing care to detail and quality when hand crafting great weapons. Give them a look, they deserve some attention!
