NOTICE: All merchant features we have thus far received have been displayed, we have randomized the order of the merchants we received and will be displaying them by week in that random order until we get new features! We may be posting a new list of questions for a “feature number two” headed into the future. Thank you to those who have contributed, we hope being featured has been helpful to you!
What is your shop about? What kind of goods do you have and what makes you unique? Also, how should people best contact you?
I sell yarns, fibers, embroidery floss, fiber art materials, saris, saris and did I mention saris? The best place to find my merchandice at the moment is on my facebook page under Miriam’s Yarns and Fibers. I’m the lady who usually has the big pile of silky goodness that people can roll in!right now i’m posting close to 100 items a week on my facebook page.
How long have you been a part of the SCA?
I joined the sca the summer before Pennsic 14, making it 35 years. I have been a merchant all of that time.
What unusual item needs to be on everyone’s packing list?
Everyone should have access to silk if the persona allows it. It was something about suck that makes everyone feel upper class. And I make it available and the price that even a peasant can afford!
What is your favorite memory of something that happened at an event?
My current husband proposed to me at Pensic. He was carried through the merchant area on a sedan chair throwing beads to the populace, and his knight negotiated with my friends for my bride price.
Which event is your favorite every year and why?
Pensic because it’s where I see my family
What is the best short advice you have for any new members?
Stay hydrated and don’t try to do all the things at the same time. And remember Natural fibers breathe in the heat.
